Introduction to Blacksmithing Workshop 2014, Ages 9-12, Saturday May 31 or Sunday June 1

Blacksmithing J-HookIn a two hour class students will be introduced to the art and science of Blacksmithing. After a brief introduction to safe work habits and an outline of the craft, students will get hands on with hammer and anvil as they make a “J-Hook”. This beginner project gives good experience with a variety of basic skills and will allow each student to complete a useful and beautiful object. Each step will be demonstrated as we go, allowing students to “see and do” in age appropriate bite sized chunks. This class is so popular, we are offering it twice!

Taught by Chris Doherty.

For ages 9-12, space is limited to 4 children for each class. This class requires an adult register and attend with a child. Cotton shirts/clothing must be worn.
