The students enrolled in Gallery Techniques through the department of art at Western Connecticut State University have for the past four years collaborated with the Brookfield Craft Center to curate and hang an exhibition in the Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery. Through this collaboration, students learn about the various stages of curation and exhibition development while working within a gallery setting.

The class gains hands-on experience in selecting, arranging, installing and lighting artwork. This year, we are pleased to present the Western Connecticut State University’s 2021 Senior Portfolio Exhibition at Brookfield Craft Center. This virtual exhibition is a selection from the senior portfolios of the 23 candidates for a Bachelor of Arts in 2021– an exhibition arranged by WCSU students for graduating WCSU students.

Director's Message

Brookfield Craft Center is pleased to collaborate with Western Connecticut State University of the Senior Portfolio Exhibition in which 23 WCSU undergraduate art majors who are candidates for the Bachelor of Arts degree in 2021 are presenting their work. This exhibition offers the public an opportunity to experience works in graphic design, illustration, photography, and studio arts.

Despite the difficulties of the past year, Brookfield Craft Center remains committed to our mission: to preserve the skills of fine craftsmanship and to promote creativity and personal growth through craft education. We continue to provide our community with access to opportunities to express their own vision through our many classes, both on campus and virtually online. There are opportunities for all ages and skill levels. I invite you to check out our class schedule and explore firsthand your own creativity.
