Dedicated students from public, private and home schools are invited to join their peers at Brookfield Craft Center to create dimensional artwork in glass, clay, wood, metal and fiber. Th3rd Dimension students will have access to professional-grade studios and top-notch professional faculty who make their living through the art they create.

Ceramics is the first class offered as part of Th3rd Dimension

How teens benefit
Art defines our history and culture, yet shrinking scholastic budgets are cutting creative programming significantly if not eliminating it all together. Th3rd Dimension is an opportunity to foster creative expression in teens in a fun, stress-free, non-competitive environment. Th3rd Dimension helps students identify their interests and offers insight into professional career paths in the art field. Guidance on portfolio preparation is also offered to help give students the tools they need to properly present their work.

How the program works
Eight-week classes are offered at Brookfield Craft Center throughout the school year in a variety of media. Each class introduces 6 to 10 students to one craft medium and gives each teen the opportunity to create artwork on a college-prep level. Apply to the program once, and then take as many classes as desired. Participants will get to know artists from other high schools, learn from professional artist faculty, make art for their personal portfolios and gain insight into college art programs and the lives of career artists.

2011-2012 schedule
The program will begin with one class in ceramics in fall of 2011, then expand in spring of 2012 to offer additional classes in glass, jewelry, blacksmithing, woodturning and fiber.
