Leslie is a graduate of the North Bennett Street School in Boston, and has been an instructor at Metalwerx for several years, as well as at the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society and The Bead House. She has attended and assisted at numerous intensive workshops with many of the most accomplished and innovative artists in their fields. Her emphasis on building strong basic skills as the foundation for fine craftsmanship is intended to prepare students to develop their own designs with confidence and independence. Her 25 years as a graphic designer and continuing interest in textiles contribute to her particular interest in the relationships between surface and volume.
